Welcome to my blog ‘Stepping Into Asia’
Over many years, I have thought of starting this blog, to help not only fellow travelers, but to give a true insight to the culture, living , doing business, working, and travelling through SE ASIA.
This blog will obviously take a while, as I have 11 years of bla bla AND TRUST ME I CAN BLA BLA ALOT!… Please also forgive my ‘engrish’, yes I am an aussie but I do drop alot of vowels sometimes…. Asia does that Hopefully over all the topics it will keep a broad range of interest to all you different readers.
The subjects will have a deep insight into my experiences and knowledge over many many years living, working, travelling and opening business in SE Asia .
The information I provide will be extremely open, factual and non-bias in anyway due to my personal experiences, you will read the fantastic, the good the bad and the ugly!.
It will not be all ‘Happy Butterfly’s’ but that’s the beauty of this blog and I love to speak freely
Here is a little blurb on what will be covered in each topic:
*Follow My Story
From Go to Woe! My story of moving to Asia, how and why I stayed so long, all my experiences from laughter to anger to excitement to tears. I planned on writing a book, but now I can just blog! J
*Travelling through SE Asia: Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand
I travelled myself intensely for many years even before moving to asia, built alot of local networks, know the ins and outs in great depth and will advise on how to get the best experience from your travels, weather you’re a backpacking, family travelling, single traveller or older traveller I will cover it for all walks of life.
I will regularly blog, trip itineries, shopping tips, area not to miss in more depth and my recommendations on how to get there, options on staying overnight, places to see etc etc
*Living in SE Asia: Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand
It’s not easy! From general living to working to renting to cultural ways to visa’s to scams. I will cover it all.
*Doing business in SE Asia
This is very tricky as it’s easy and not easy at the same time. You need to know the ways and the only way to know the ways is to have experience living for a while. Strength, commitment, knowledge, corruption, weariness, friendship and care are all the bases of success. But even then you could fall flat! I will advise on the how too’s the do’s and don’ts and my experiences.
Keep a read on ‘Follow My Story’ as I am sure you will find it funny, shocking and fantastic all in one hit!
